Top Places to Visit in Worcester, MA
With Polar Park first opening in April of 2021, Worcester continues to be an up and coming city.
When it comes to Downtown Worcester, my first stop for an afternoon trip is the Canal District where you can find several cute shopping stops, the Worcester Public Market, restaurants, and Polar Park. I often find a place to park on Harding Street or on a neighboring street. After paying for 2 hours of parking (except on Sundays), I’ll make my way over to every plant lovers dream: Seed to Stem. Seed to Stem is a lifestyle and plant boutique with a vast selection of houseplants, home goods, and more.
After my parusal of Seed to Stem, I may take a peek at Bedlam Book Cafe or Haberdash boutique where I’ve found one of my favorite pairs of shoes.
At this point, I’ve worked up an appetite from window shopping and I’m ready fulfill my main purpose of venturing into Worcester: Enjoying a meal at Birchtree Bread Company. Their fresh artisan bread and warm environment makes it a great stop for breakfast or lunch. Checkout their website for live music schedule as well as their special Wednesday & Friday hours where they open from 6-9PM for live music, artisan pizza, and good company.
Another amazing lunch option would be the Worcester Public Market that features vendors of produce, meats, seafood, cheese, baked goods, and other items to try. Their unique shops, restaurants, and live entertainment, and Wachusett brewery create a fun atmosphere to spend your afternoon.
Once I’ve wrapped up my meal, I’ll head downstairs to Crompton Collective, one stop shop for antiques, vintage treasures, and so much more.
Before heading home, I'll make one final stop for a sweet treat at the Queen’s Cups or at Worcester’s newest donut shop, Mochi Doh. If you have yet to try a Japanese-style mochi donut, I highly recommend the experience! Donuts are one of my favorite foods, and this Mochi experience changed my life!
Once I’ve satisfied my sweet tooth and enjoyed an eventful afternoon, I’m ready to pack it up and call it a day. Thankfully, it won’t take long before I make my way back for a brand new Seed to Stem plant or a hot cup of tomato soup.
