An Unexpected Journey
Good evening from Greater Boston,
Let’s recap… The last few years have been a whirlwind, to say the least. From taking steps towards the dream life I thought I wanted, getting the dream job I earned my degree in, and enjoying relationships that I thought would last the long term, my life was set up for success!… until it wasn’t. My mental health took a downward spiral causing a tumultuous sequence of events and extreme burnout that I, the coordinator of my life, could hardly keep up with. Thankfully, due to brutal honesty, hard decisions, mental health diagnoses, and the love of Jesus Christ, I was freed from the life that began to put me in bondage. On the other side, I found a deep desire to choose “me.” Now, don’t get me wrong. I don’t mean this in a selfish sense, but rather as a way to embrace who I am at my core and how I express my personality, uniqueness, and abilities that only I, as Mackenzie, could offer this world. As the saying goes… “Be yourself. Everyone else is already taken.”
This long overdue epiphany began the angsty attempts to grasp at straws and reignite passion and purpose in my life. To say I’ve figured it all out and that I’ve got it all together would be to lie to your face. In all honesty, I am in a daily debate between my life decisions in career, education, and destination, yet I strive to embrace full authenticity and take steps towards my purpose. Let’s consider this blog a starting point, a roadmap, and a journal for the journey. In the midst of the unknown, the few things I remain confident in is my Jesus, my family, my partner, and my friendships who have stood by me every step of this crazy life. No matter how wild it gets, as long as you are taking but one step in the right direction… you’re right where you need to be. Trust the process and keep moving forward.
ThibodeauStyle exists to be a safe place where you can authentically be yourself while taking steps towards the life that brings you genuine JOY! My hope is to lead and guide you, yes, in food, fashion, and travel, but also to promote a lifestyle that casts off expectations and “shoulds” to fully seek out the life you have always wanted to live.
Thanks for sticking along for the journey. We are in this together!
